Last week I mentioned that I thought spring was just about here. About an hour or so after that posting, it started to snow. And continued to snow off and on through Saturday. So maybe I was mistaken. A little snow is okay. My prayers are with all of those affected by the devastating tornadoes and floods of late.
Yesterday Kiki turned 16. It is hard to believe that she can be that old. She is looking forward to getting a drivers license soon but that will be a still so she can have more practice. For her birthday, Joe took her fishing at her request. With the weather being kind of cold and windy, I stayed home with Lulu and Christopher. I am more of a fair weather fisherman! They were hoping to catch trout but only caught a couple of suckers so came home empty handed.
This week will be plenty busy. I’m working a part time (16 hours a week) temp job in addition to my work from home bookkeeping job and my home based business. The hours are from 6AM to 10AM 4 days a week. That is mighty early! The addition of the temp job does require me to plan things a little bit better since I’m gone from the house during that time. Making sure that I get my grains and things soaking the night before is important and something I had been in the habit of when I was working last fall but not of late. I wrote a guest article on GNOWFGLINS last year on some of the things that I learned while working, guess I should follow my own tips
This is Week 3 of my 13 Week Rotating Menu Plan. The Stretchy Bean for the week is lentil. I’m quite fond of lentils. I especially like them sprouted, they take on such a wonderful flavor. See what we usually eat for breakfast here and lunch here.
D- Quinoa Stir-Fry with Vegetables and Chicken (based on this recipe), Artisan Sourdough bread (bucket bread from the GNOWFGLINS eCourse)

D- Garam Masal Lentil Soup with Coconut Milk, Sourdough bread
D- Spicy Sprouted Lentils (sides tbd)
D- Venison Roast, potatoes, carrots
